Get Social with Cycle House

Tired of cycling alone? We have the community for you.

At Cycle House we want to create a strong riding community through our store. There is nothing better than being involved in a social bunch. The conversations flow easily and there is never a dull moment. Like minded individuals share their knowledge and experience, and our sport is way better when you’re riding in a group.

We hold weekly group rides (for riders of varying levels) to make riding more enjoyable and social, introducing you to other local riders and the roads / trails they enjoy

Cycle House Shop Rides

  • Wednesday 6:30pm Mountain Bike Ride    2+hours
  • Saturday 7.30am Ride from Wattle Glen 2-3 hours (Can turn off at any time)
  • Saturday 6.30am Road Ride    2.5 hours  (return to shop by 9am)

Our Mountain Bike ride is held on Wednesday evenings, meeting at the store. This is definitely not a race or training ride, and is designed to introduce people to our fantastic trails within close proximity to the shop. It's also a great ride to do if you are new (or returning!) to the sport, and would like some friendly advice from our local MTB community The ride usually lasts about 2 hours and requires strong lights in the darker months. You will be surprised by the quality and flow of our local trail network! Keep an eye on our Facebook Page for weekly details.

On Saturdays we have a morning road ride to start the day, meeting at the store. On this ride we generally head north towards Strathewen or the Arthurs Creek area, accumulating approximately 60kms in 2.5hrs. Our regular route (the infamous Cycle House loop) is on quiet, picturesque roads with rolling hills and a few “sprint” sections. We build your confidence in bunch riding, perfect for your first time. We can only break our KOM's as a bunch! After the ride there are cinnamon donuts and coffee. This ride is a 'group ride' and no one gets left behind.

If your just getting into cycling or would like to go on slightly more relaxed ride we have the perfect ride for you. Meeting at Wattle Glen Train Station every Saturday morning.  Irene Sheppard takes a great group out for anywhere from 50 to 100klms. It is personally my favourite ride as people get to socialize a little more and there is a variety of ride levels from super fit to beginner. Irene also takes a lot of tour groups throughout the year to beautiful parts of our state including some of the bigger mountains.

Monday/Tuesday evenings in summer present the opportunity to blast out some fast K’s on the Roadie. This ride is more of a race simulation ride for intermediate and advanced riders. We aim to have some challenging segments along the way with a few hill climbs and sprints - purely for KOM's and bragging rights! Ride is roughly 1.5hrs at a hard pace. Bunch riding experience and confidence is a must. Keep an eye on Facebook for details.
